CMC Female Artist of the Year 2018
Adding to her ever growing mantle of awards, Christie Lamb took home ‘Female Country Artist of the Year’ at last Thursday’s CMC Awards. The fan voted awards are one of the country’s most prestigious award ceremonies.
The 2018 Country Music Channel Awards were held at The Star on the Gold Coast and were the largest in the events history with a record breaking amount of votes received.
The star-studded ceremony was hosted by The McClymonts and included many international performances from Daruis Rucker, Kelsea Ballerini, Brothers Osborne and Old Dominion. Aussie acts included The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins and Amber Lawrence.
Christie was amongst some tough competition with the female finalists including Kasey Chambers, Amber Lawrence, Fanny Lumsden and Caitlyn Shadbolt. The hotly contested CMC Award for Female Artist of the Year was won off the back of the release of Christie’s second studio album ‘Loaded’ which reached #2 on the Aria Country Chart and resulting in 4 x Top 5 Country Radio Chart singles.
Whilst Christie’s fan base has grown from her own tours, touring with Lee Kernaghan and The Wolfe Brothers for 3 years, as well as being a part of The Girls Of Country with Amber Lawrence and Aleyce Simmonds, Christie was blown away and humbled to receive the award amongst such tough competition.
The year ahead looks very busy for Christie with her own Loaded Tour going ahead and some upcoming dates with Amber Lawrence.
Later this year Christie will also be a special guest for Adam Brand for a few dates on his Milestones -
20 Years Tour, as well as recording her new album.
